Lately, I've seen a few topics on get paid to sites around the Etsy forums. I used to do this quite often and earned a considerable amount of extra money on the side. So here is my list of legitimate paid sites that I've tried and tested.
1. Pinecone Research
This is one of the best get paid to sites I've ever used. You get paid $5.00 per survey and the opportunity to test new products. You can choose to receive your payments via paypal or a check through the mail. I've tested a few products from them, you get paid for the qualification survey and for the test. If the item you are testing is fairly expensive, they may ask you to return it at their cost.
Unfortunately, in order to join Pinecone you must find one of their banners around the web or be invited. Occasionally Pinecone will request people of a certain demographic to join, when they need people they will email members and ask them to forward a link to register. If you have the opportunity to join Pinecone, take it! The surveys usually take no more than 10 minutes to do.
2. BzzAgent
This is less of a get paid to site and more of a product testing site. What you do is you sign up for campaigns in which you are given a product or a service to try out and tell other people about, both your good and bad experiences called bzzing. Then you report your bzz back to BzzAgent, in return you receive points when you participate and report. These points can then be used to redeem prizes.
Depending on the polls and surveys you answer, as well as your demographic, determines which campaigns you get. Although most of the campaigns are free occasionally there will be a few that you have to pay for. This only happens when the product or service is very expensive. For example, they once offered a headset to test worth several hundred dollars for $99.00. They also offered a Fly Fusion pen worth $100 for $22.00 (which I signed up for, and the pen was well worth it).
Although you may not get very many campaigns, when you do they are fun to participate it and you get a great product to try. My last campaign was for Clean & Clear Soft, where I received 2 full sized products and coupons to hand out.
3. Global Test Market
This is probably the easiest to get. You get paid to answer surveys. Each survey is worth about 50 points to complete (you get 5 points for trying, even if you don't qualify). You can redeem your points once you reach 1000 (which doesn't take long because they send you surveys almost daily). 1000 points is equal to $50.00. Although the surveys do take time, they build up quickly and you can earn a modest amount of money in your spare time.
4. Weekly Readers Insiders
This panel is for kids and teens under 18, sorry adults (however there is an adult version called SayNation). You get points for surveys, some hosted by weekly reader and some hosted by their partners. The points can be redeemed for things like gift certificates, books, toys, and video games. It's simple and very easy to use and a nice way for kids to earn their own rewards when they have the time. I usually grab up the Amazon Gift Certificates with my points.
5. MyPoints
This is a shopping program. When you shop at online stores using their links, you get points back for every purchase that you make. Don't want to do this, no problem. There are also a lot of other ways to earn points such as completing offers and reading emails. I usually just do the emails. They send you a few emails every day with information on one of their advertisers, you click on a link to visit the advertiser's website and you get 5 points for just visiting. Points can be traded in for gift certificates to various stores and restaurants. If you do the email method, it can take a while to build up points, but it only takes 10 seconds to do.
6. Testspin
If you like Amazon, this is your place. They pay you in Amazon gift certificates. You get surveys in your inbox, each worth at least $1.00. When you reach $10.00, you can cash out for your gift certificate. However some surveys are very specific and hard to qualify for. Also once you complete a survey it can take a very long time for your account to be credited. But once you reach $10.00, you'll get your gift certificate in a matter of minutes.
7. Promosquad
This is a different sort of paid to site. You listen to new music and then rate them on a scale. Each song you rate earns you 5 points. You trade in the points for things like CDs, DVDs, Gift Cards, and electronics. However, it may be a VERY long time before you get your prize although you will eventually get them, and the good prizes usually run out of stock very quickly. It's first come first serve. So far I've received a Nintendo DS Lite, and I have a Hot Topic GC and an Amazon GC pending. Not for the impatient.
There are many more that I've tried and I will add them on here next time. The ones listed above are the ones I participate in regularly and have seen good results from.
