Art by Trisha Thompson

Everybody, meet my buddy Trisha (aka Twiggy) and she is my special buddy with a wicked amount of talent. We went to high school together and met (in art class) during my junior year (her senior year). We also had physics together (where I helped her cheat, haha). And I can honestly say that she's one of the most talented people I know.

I had the pleasure of seeing her work in person, both finished and as works in progress. And let me tell you, the photographs do nothing for the real pieces, they are amazing. She currently does commission work for community members, friends, and family. Although she doesn't sell her work online, you can take a look at her skill through her DeviantArt gallery.

Sometimes she shows me new pieces and I'm like, "Holy #&@*! That's a painting?!" Yeah. She gets that a lot. I try not to let it get to her head, but I'm not sure how well that's working. Just kidding. She's awesome about it.

At the end of her senior year, as she was cleaning out her art cubby, she gave me this painting and one of her linoleum prints. I hope she gets famous one day, she deserves it (although she cheated in physics, lol). Although I give her a hard time about everything, she knows it's because I care.

Notebooks by Celestefrittata

I like to read tarot cards for myself as a hobby. So I was searching around Etsy for a good journal to write my thoughts and observations. Lo and behold I came upon a "Divination" Harry Potter textbook type journal by Celestefrittata. Looking around her shop I saw other incredibly beautiful Harry Potter themed journals as well as stunning custom items for your own shop.

Each pocket-sized journal is hand bound with blank pages. The covers and pages have been created to look like it stepped right out of an ancient wizard's library. Use the journals to write in or as an accessory to your Harry Potter cosplay/costume.

If divination isn't your thing, you could also pick up other popular "textbooks" such as, "Care Of Magical Creatures," "Spells And Charms," "Herbology" and more. There was also a limited edition The Daily Prophet reporter kit which contained a reporter notebook, address book, and a customizable press pass. Unfortunately, the kit is currently out of production (it was limited to 4 kits), but hopefully we'll see another incredible themed set/kit soon.

In addition to their gorgeous notebooks, if you're a shop owner you can pick up some wonderful packaging goodies for your store. They create things such as personalized thank you cards, "100% Handmade" tags for your items, and personalized paper bags for your goodies.

If you're a Harry Potter fan or just someone who likes beautiful journals, Celestefrittata is sure to have what you're looking for.

What is a reasonable price?

So I bought this sweet strapless dress at the thrift store today. Unfortunately the top part is slightly bigger than I am. I was in love with it, so I bought it anyways.

So I'm looking around for people or tailor shops that can make it a little smaller and take in the waist a few inches.

I've never had any tailor work done so I don't know what is a good price and what's ripping me off.

Does anyone know what a reasonable price for this sort of work would be? All I want is the top reduced and the waist taken in.

P.S. I got a twitter page! Go follow me. ^_^

Review: Roxie Lip Color by Ingero

I am a lip product junkie. So I picked up a tube of Roxie Lip Color by Ingero when I was searching for new lip color products on Etsy. I picked the Passion shade (the pomegranate shade is pictured above), which was described as a natural pink with a berry scent. A few days later it came in the mail.

First off, I love the color. It is a natural pink with gold undertones. It makes your lips look like they've been dusted with a light coating of pink/gold sparkles. It looks fantastic on me. Secondly the scent reminded me of cherry popsicles, I love cherry popsicles.

I would describe the texture more towards the lip stick side then a balm. I found it a little difficult to get on with the first application, but after that (when it was softer) it was easier to apply. Also when I stopped using it for a while, the top layer got slightly hard so I had to work it up in order to be able to use it again.

At first when you have it on, it feels moisturizing, but after a while it felt a little dry. I had a hard time rubbing my lips together to see if my lips were still soft. However when I touched my lips with my fingers (don't ask why) they were simply silky smooth to the touch, you can barely feel anything on them at all.

Overall, this product's benefits far out weigh it's minor flaws. I'll be back to try other shades once I use this tube up. Check out the rest of her shop too, the designs are absolutely beautiful.

Purchase your's from Ingero for $6.50

P.S. They also have colorless lip balms available.

Do I Tell Them?

I've never really ran across something that I thought was copying, I know people have similar ideas but other times it's very questionable. What would you do in the situation? Inform the person being copied or just ignore it because it's really none of your business? As a seller, would you like to know?

I was searching around Etsy today and I came across and item that looked incredibly similar to a popular seller's item (the seller being copied has been here at least 2 years with plenty of sales). At first I didn't suspect copying because the item isn't exactly original, in fact a friend of mine came up with the same idea before I even found these two shops. But the similar style caught my eye, even the photography and description styles were alike.

Being the curious cat that I am, I looked through the rest of their shop and they're fairly new. I was a little taken back when I saw other items that imitated the style of the popular seller, not just one item but almost the whole shop including the banner style. The items aren't exactly alike, both have their differences, but it's enough to be suspicious.

What would you do? Tell the original seller? Honestly, I don't want to because it's not my place to butt in to their business. Why post this then, you ask? Because I just had to get it off my chest and the seller being copied is one of my favorite shops.

Review: Fragrances by Because I'm The Princess

I love fragrances and I can't get enough. So when I ran into BITP's huge selection of scents, I decided to give them a try. I've been looking for a lemonade type scent and saw that they carried a Raspberry Lemonade fragrance. Eagerly I purchased one roll on bottle.

A few days later, I received a cute package in the mail. My roll on was packaged in a cute cellophane bag with ribbons. When I opened it, the fragrance hit me like a brick wall. At first, the fragrance wasn't quite what I was expecting but then I grew to love it. So I went back and purchased two more roll ons (Mango Milkshake and Tangerine) both of which were fantastic.

When you pick your fragrances, you have the choice between a jojoba oil base or a perfumer's alcohol base. I recommend that you pick the alcohol because I found that the scent will last much much longer than the jojoba base.

They carry fragrances based on food, fruit, flower, and designer duplicate scents. Since there are so many to choose from I'm sure almost anyone will find a scent they like. BITP also does custom blends if you're looking for something extra unique just for you.

Because I'm The Princess provides the most delicious scents at very affordable prices. It would be a shame not to take a look.

You can see the fragrance selection here and the Etsy shop here.

Fragrance roll-ons range from $3.00-$6.00 depending on size.
